Mrs. Dyan Demers

Hello and Welcome to 4th Grade!

To put it simply, I love teaching.  I feel very lucky to spend my days in the company of enthusiastic, bright, wise young people. I strive to create a warm, inspiring classroom environment where students are encouraged to be inquisitive and creative, appreciate each other’s differences, opinions, and ideas, and instill a life long love and a passion for learning. I am honored to be a part of your child's educational journey.

Fourth grade is a year full of new adventures and experiences. Fourth graders enjoy and learn from play, and thrive in nurturing, collaborative work environments. The content of 4th grade curriculum encourages and pushes students to think, analyze, and learn in more sophisticated and structured ways. Students are taught to deeply think about and make connections in what they read and learn; write with clarity, flow, and structure similar to that of traditional essays; and learn more complex concepts across all subjects. Fourth grade students are also encouraged to be more independent in their learning, as they problem solve, research, plan, and revise their work.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
