Welcome to 7th and 8th grade science! This is going to be a unique year, so buckle up for a wild ride! We are all going to need to be flexible and adaptable as we move through this school year- something I’m confident we can do. While some aspects of science class will necessarily have to be different this year, one important thing remains the same. Far and away, your most important scientific resource is your brain. We will be covering a wide range of topics in both 7th and 8th grade. My goal is for all of you to be able to take several basic scientific theories and apply them to the topics we cover, as well as the world around you. Did you know that some of the same scientific principles that cause weather are also responsible for mountains? Making those connections will enable you to see the world in a totally different way- everything becomes so much more interesting when viewed through the lens of science! Based on what I learned about both the upcoming 7th and 8th graders last year, I could not be more excited to embark on this journey with all of you. You were always full of questions, ideas, and enthusiasm- which is all you need to make science fun in any format! Together we will make this a great year!
